Increasing surveillance and control of all citizens globally is a serious side effect of modern communication technology. We are all at risk from the restriction of free press and the power of commercial interests to control what we read and think. Even the freedom of the internet is posed to be severely restricted.
Centralised control of the masses is beginning to seem more and more like a realisation of 1984 in 2008. “A society whose citizens refuse to see and investigate the facts, who refuse to believe that their government and their media will routinely lie to them and fabricate a reality contrary to verifiable facts, is a society that chooses and deserves the Police State Dictatorship it’s going to get.” – Ian Williams Goddard
